I didn’t start in roofing. Not even close.

I spent the first chapter of my career in corporate logistics. High-pressure sales, Fortune 500 clients, time-sensitive deals where a missed deadline meant millions on the line. I was good at it. I made great money doing it. And after nearly a decade, I realized I was completely unfulfilled.

The work wasn’t the problem. The disconnect was. I had zero connection to the people I was serving and zero connection to the community I was living in. I was helping massive companies move product, and at the end of every year the only feedback was do more next year. Something was missing.

That’s when Patrick and I started talking. We’ve been close friends since high school, and the conversations kept circling the same idea. We wanted to build something where the promises we made actually got kept, and we were the ones standing behind them.

Raptor Roofing was that something.

I grew up in Center Grove. I’m raising my family here. I go to church here. This is home, and I wanted to build a company I’d actually be proud of in the community I care about.

What I brought from my corporate background was a different way of thinking about how a contractor should operate. Systems, communication, follow-through. The stuff that’s standard in the business world but somehow rare in roofing. At Raptor, you get a dedicated project manager on your job. You get updates at every stage. You get drone footage of your completed roof and a digital portal with all your documents and warranties in one place. We don’t wing it.

We’ve earned over 650 five-star Google reviews and we’re the only roofing company in Indianapolis holding a perfect rating at that kind of volume. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you genuinely care about every single customer’s experience.

Honestly, what drives me is pretty simple. Contractors are one of the least-trusted professions in the country. I saw that as an opportunity, not a problem. Do what you say. Show up when you say you will. Treat people like you’d want to be treated. That shouldn’t be a competitive advantage, but in this industry, it is.

Outside of Raptor, we’re invested in this community. We partner with local education foundations, support school athletics and band programs, and we’re always looking for more ways to give back. If you know a great cause in the area that could use support, I’d genuinely love to hear about it.

Happy employees, happy customers. That’s the cycle. Life’s too short to hire someone you can’t trust, and it’s too short to not love what you do.
