How'd you end up at Raptor?
I've been in the roofing industry for six years now, but before that, I was a professional baseball player. After hanging up the cleats, I worked for a couple of exterior companies in the industry. The funny thing about how I ended up at Raptor is that I was actually playing baseball last summer with one of the owners, Patrick. We connected on the field, and eventually that led to me joining the Raptor Roofing team. Sometimes the best things come from just showing up and being yourself.
So a homeowner books an appointment and you pull up. What happens next?
You can expect a man who's going to show up on time and be very thorough in the inspection process. I take my time, I don't cut corners, and I make sure you understand everything I'm seeing. My goal is to make things simple and easy for you so there's no confusion about where things stand with your roof.
What do you want every homeowner to walk away saying about you?
That I'm an honest and genuine person who made the whole process simple and easy. I want to walk away from every job knowing I built a real relationship with the homeowner. The kind where if something comes up down the road, they don't hesitate to call me again.
What's the part of this job that really gets you fired up?
Helping homeowners get full approvals through insurance. I am very persistent when it comes to turning a denial or a partial repair into a full replacement. Going to bat for someone and getting them the roof they deserve? That never gets old.
On your day off you're ___?
Playing baseball or instructing baseball. I also try to golf whenever I can. But let's be real, baseball always comes first.
If you weren't in roofing?
I'd be a baseball coach at a university or a groundskeeper at a baseball stadium. I just love baseball. There's really no other answer for me.
Walk-up song?
"Bandoleros" by Don Omar and Tego Calderon. And yes, as a former pro baseball player, I've actually had a real walk up song.
